Studio O'Brien is based in Shelby, North Carolina. We build websites for small businesses across Cleveland County and the counties around it.
The studio sits in Shelby, the county seat of Cleveland County. That is home base, and it shapes how we work: most of our clients are within an hour's drive, which means we can meet in person, photograph your storefront, and see your business the way your customers do. For a restaurant, a shop, or a trade, those details end up in the website, and they are hard to fake from a distance.
A website itself can be built from anywhere. The reason to hire someone close to home is everything around the website: the Google Business Profile that decides whether you show up on the map, the photos that make your listing look alive, and a designer who knows the difference between Boiling Springs and Bessemer City without looking it up.
Inside Cleveland County and the counties that touch it, we work in person. First meetings can happen at your business, and we would rather see your operation than hear about it over the phone. Farther out, toward Charlotte, Hickory, or Morganton, we work by phone and screen share, and it works fine. The build process is the same either way: you see the site as it comes together and nothing goes live until you have walked through it.
If your town is not listed below, that is not a no. The list covers where we most often work, not the limit of where we will. Call and ask.
Home base. This is where the studio lives and where most of our in-person work happens, from Shelby out to the smaller towns that Google's map results treat very differently than the county seat.
Next door to the east. Close enough for in-person meetings anywhere in the county.
West of us, and where several of our concept builds live. Forest City and Spindale are a regular drive.
Northeast, between us and the lake.
The Hickory side. Usually remote-first, in person when a project calls for it.
We take Charlotte work, usually by phone and screen share. The build process is identical.
